HTC Vive brought its most powerful virtual reality (VR) system, the HTC Vive Pro, to the Middle East by launching it at the Burj Khalifa. This launch also signifies the regional deal and partnership between the Burj Khalifa and HTC Middle East. The partnership includes the Vive Pro being used in Burj Khalifa’s latest ‘Mission 828’ experience on the At the Top observation deck, with additional experiences in the works to be revealed later.

Mosaic Live was very excited to work on such an innovative project and happily created a very memorable event for both clients and guests. The 112th floor of Burj Khalifa was transformed from an empty canvas to a tech-inspired event space that will take a guest on a journey from beginning to end. A stage was built with the sides mimicking the iconic Vive triangle logo and placed a full LED screen in the back to play content and use it later on for presentations. The graphic used represents a starry sky and to make it ‘pop’, the décor was black and minimalistic throughout the event space. Black cocktail tables and stools were strategically placed in front of the stage area for guests to sit.

Mosaic Live built two life sized elevators that were fully equipped with the latest VR technology inside. On the outside, it looks just like an elevator and it is connected to a large LED screen to show the guests what the player is doing. The elevator played a crucial role in the launch of the Vive Pro as another elevator was also equipped with a lighting system when opened. As soon as the door was opened, a large cloud of smokes and light was emitted from the inside of the elevator and into the crowd. The launch was a wow-factor of the event and encouraged the guest’s curiosity and made them want to try the new Vive pro.

A social media activation was also placed in the main event area. A unique hashtag was created for this event (#Viveatthetop) and guests had to take a picture of themselves at the event, use the hashtag and upload it on social media. Once they have done this, they are able to print their pictures on the spot from our Social Media corner. Several different stands that featured the latest HTC phones and products were on display for the guests to try and discover. A very talented VR artist was present at the event and used the VR headset to show guests the creative uses of the headset on the TV. She created a unique mural of the Burj Khalifa and Vive Pro for the guests to admire and to stay within the event theme.

The event not only offered the guests a unique and memorable experience, but it took them on a journey and encouraged them to explore the brand up close and personal. Additionally, the atmosphere was light and enhanced by a live DJ and pass around F&B. The guests managed to see the brand for what it is from the 112th Floor terrace of the Burj Khalifa as the sun went down.
